Iced Green Tea

Why pay $1 or more for a plastic bottle of ready-to-drink iced tea from the store when you can make it for pennies at home?  You'll get more fresh antioxidant power from your home brew and save the environment from plastic bottles!

1 tablespoon Sencha, Lung Ching, Mint Green, or Serene Green tea

1 #2 t-sac

32 ounces filtered water

1 ounce lemon juice

1-2 tablespoons honey (optional)

Bring water to less than a boil, about 165-170 degrees F.  (Never put boiling water on green tea.)

Place 1 tablespoon green tea into a #2 t-sac.

Put the t-sac into a pitcher and add hot water.

Brew 5 minutes and remove the tea leaves.

If adding honey, stir in while tea is hot.

Add lemon juice  (Citric acid extends the viability of the powerful antioxidant EGCG as it passes through your digestive system.)

Store in refrigerator and drink throughout the day.  Four 6-ounce servings each day give you the antioxidant power you need for a healthy lifestyle!
