Long Jing (Lung Ching) usually ranks #1 on the 10 Famous Chinese tea lists. This tea originates in the Xihu lakeside, outside the city of Hangzhou in the West Lake District. Elmwood owner Bruce Richardson spent a week in those gardens in 2018.
The first sip has the aroma and sweetness of a fresh melon. The finish is vegetative, with a hint of spring asparagus. It easily yields multiple infusions.
According to the FDA, Consuming Just Two Cups of Black or Green Tea Daily Reduces the Risk of Heart Disease and Diabetes.
Of the three Lung Chings you offer, I would say this one tops them. Try brewing 2 tsp. in a gaiwan starting at 20 seconds. The results: The sweet, refreshing flavor that's cooling on the tongue with a clean finish. I dare you to find one better.
I am a life long tea drinker and have tried many teas. Elmwood Inn has the best tasting teas, and including the best customer service. I had a question about this tea, and my email was answered right away. After trying this tea, I am declaring it the best of the Lung Ching teas. After my first sip, I just wanted to sit and enjoy the flavor. It is heavenly.
