Young Hyson China Green Tea Information
Water Temperature:
175°FBrewing Time:
3 - 5 minutesIngredients:
Premium green teaOrigin:
ChinaThis is one of the teas enjoyed by early American colonists. Hyson was tossed overboard in Boston Harbor and drunk by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. This light, fresh green tea produces a green-yellow liquor with a medium body. Healthy, of course. We import ours from Anhui Province.
We private label this tea for the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum where our our owner serves as the museum's tea master.
Steep like a tea professional and never use boiling water on green tea. 165-175F is optimal.
Just ok. I was hoping for the brilliant, bright green rolled young hyson leaves that were sold at the Boston Tea Party reenactment in the Boston Harbor. That tea was fabulous, and I now know why it was George Washington's favorite and the highest taxes by the British!
I love ordering from Elmwood Inn Teas!
Their teas are excellent and their service is quick !
Light satisfying flavor, and good for multiple steeps.
This is one of my regularly rotating green teas from Elmwood. (Why would you buy from anywhere else?!) I drink 2 20oz kettles each morning, and while the second steeping darkens a bit, the flavor profile is still much the same. Love it!
Delicious tea. Thanks
